This brief essay addressed the neuroticism of civil disarmament advocates, the “gun grabbers” of twenty years ago.
Today it is free speech, assembly, and other inherent rights under attack by the hordes of the Left and the coalesced monstrosities that accompany them.
Fear Of Power was originally written in April of 2003.
Read on:
There are many people who incessantly clamor for the safety and security of an all-powerful State.
They repeatedly seek ever growing restrictions on the inherent rights protected by our Constitution. They claim that times have changed... and that technology has created new dangers which outweighs the concerns and demands of liberty.
This is fraught with danger for the nation - and ignorant of the truths of the human condition.
Let us look at these truths.
Human beings are essentially predators. Our digestive systems are designed to process not only plant life... but also the flesh of other organisms. This requires, of course, that we kill them - since carrion is not a part of our diet. Our teeth are also partially designed to tear and rend flesh, in furtherance of this.
Predators kill.
Humans are no different. It is a part and parcel of our essential nature; an integral aspect of our condition. While we may civilize, or suppress, this nature - it cannot be eliminated.
Along with this comes the recognition that one of our preys is each other. We kill each other, in ever-more-staggering numbers, with each generation of life.
Tools, of course, have always furthered this killing.
Rocks and clubs were first. Then came spears, and swords. Bows and crossbows... and finally firearms as the most efficient and widespread personal arm of the human being.
To attempt to ban firearms in the pursuit of public safety is a fallacy.
The issue, as always, is in the nature of human beings - and in the manifestation of their varied hearts. Man loves, man fears, man hates...
...and sometimes, Man kills.
This will never change.
In order to preserve life... to preserve the safety of one's family... there is no greater tool than the firearm. They provide equality of force for the elderly widow, when confronted by a powerful intruder. They provide protection of virtue to the young woman, when confronted by a savage and violent rapist. They provide a warning and a deterrent to the State, when tyranny shows its face amongst the rulers of the land.
They provide power.
Power is, like many things of an awesome or fundamental nature, frightening to many people. It requires strength of character, and willingness to grow, in order to handle or employ it in life.
Sadly, those who fear that they themselves lack this capability of growth or ability to mature as humans - often respond to this inadequacy by attempting to force others to live with the same inner terror of personal development.
This is a regrettable, and not-to-be-imitated, failing on the part of those who should know better. It is the shirking of duty to oneself. It is the abrogation of responsibility for oneself. It is, fundamentally, a submission to the false premise that one's survival is not dependent upon oneself.
Weirdly enough, those who detest and rally against firearms ownership often claim that they, in an emergency, will "dial 911" and thus ensure their safety - rather than ever picking up a weapon themselves.
In other words, they expect another to risk his life for them - rather than fulfilling the natural prerogative and requirement of every living thing. For every living animal will defend its own life.
Humans are the only beings which are willing to die rather than defend themselves.
I find it a craven, and disgusting, attitude. I find it to be a sickening descent into neurotic and illogical fantasy. I find it to be unacceptable, and incompatible with human dignity.
Sigmund Freud was quite clear in his General Introduction to Psychoanalysis:
A fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity.
It is a shame that this mindset of victimhood is so prevalent.
Author and teacher Stephen K. Hayes said it best:
Being powerful is the most loving thing you can do.
Let us all remember these things.
Are you afraid of power?
Do you fear being powerful?
Must you insist on remaining weak, stupid, and afraid in these early accelerating days of the Third World War?
There’s enormous and unlimited opportunity for you today, if you have the will to power and the capacity for the love that drives it.
Read Age of Militants and be that certain kind of man.

Bring it and let’s get to work.
Grand rising!
Reality is the only thing that matters.
This stupid and insane violence we see so much of is the direct result of the political powerlessness of the powerless.
Our government officials and talking heads, worldwide, taut our system as a civilized and representative democracy. They claim to be doing the best thing for us on each and every point across the board.
Periodically, they even let us vote for representatives who are authorized to vote for us on the new laws that will do the right thing for everybody each and every time. And this empowerment of fallible human beings is the only means we have to redress our grievances.
And yet the honest Congressional and Legislative representative admits that they do not read, examine or debate any of the laws they vote on.
In the USA, they vote on one hundred - 2,000 page laws every day. They vote the way their advisors tell them to vote.
And according to the powerless, the situation gets worse.
So, when does it get better? Or is it necessary that our democratically elected representatives, who do not have the time to evaluate the legislation they vote on, plunge us into Armageddon where only God could sort it out?
Somehow, we have to call a stop to the madness.
The peaceful, prosperous world we all hope and dream of begins when the responsible Citizens develop a way to evaluate 200 Thousand pages of law speak per day.
This evaluation must be public, transparent and in a form that can be viewed by everyone in order make certain that the Law being enforced is congruent with the will of the people.
In 1992, Presidential Candidate Ross Perot called it The Electronic Townhall. “It is only logical that it will become our Fourth Branch of Government”, he said.
How it works:
Before a new law, tax, or expenditure can be put on the books it must first be Ratified by the Citizens.
Existing laws can be Annulled by the same super majority required to Ratify them.
This program can be applied to every level of government and will ultimately solve every problem we have.
To prevent chaos, the basic law, our Constitution and Bill of Rights, would be exempt from review.
Citizenship is about the Ratification or Annulment of each line of every law, rule, regulation and supreme court decision on the books or that is on the docket waiting to be turned into law, policy and taxes.
Nothing short of this is going to ameliorate the present situation, nor will we get to the Stars without it.
